Junior Golf
Scoreboard FAQs
My child played in one or more tournaments
listed on your site; why aren’t they ranked?
We require all players to have played in at
least four listed tournaments within the past
365 days in order to be ranked. As soon as four
tournaments are credited to a player within this
time frame, they are ranked automatically by our
system. For a full description of how the
Rankings work, click here.
Players must also play in groupings of no fewer
than five (5) and play in age groups over 10
years of age. We do not post results of
age groups under 10 (eff. 10/2009).
Acceptable groups MUST have a minimum age of 10
years (9-11 would not be ranked).
Why aren’t more high school events listed?
Many high school events are eligible to be
listed on our site as long as they meet our
tournament requirements, however we require all
players to be listed by their hometown, not the
schools they attend. Without hometowns listed
for the players, we cannot accept the results
for our ranking system.
Why aren’t tournament results posted yet?
Tournament results are sent to us by persons
involved with the tournament; we do not have
this information automatically. While we do try
to contact tournament personnel in order to get
results sent, we cannot predict when we will
receive specific tournament results.
What are the requirements for getting a
tournament listed?
To be listed on the Junior Golf Scoreboard, a
tournament must:
- Play 36 holes minimum,
- Be stroke play,
- Have a MINIMUM of five players
complete 36 holes (age groupings of less than
five will not be posted),
- Course yardage of at least
4,500 yards and not shorter than the forward
most USGA-rated tees,
- No stroke limit rule in
place.
If combining different age groups
together for an over-all winner, in
addition to the above requirements:
- All players must play from the
same tees at the same yardage,
- Re-pair in the final round,
- Declare an over-all winner
(this can be in addition to individual group
winners).
How much does it cost to list a tournament?
Nothing! Listing tournaments and results is a
free service from Junior Golf Scoreboard and a
great way to increase event turnout. |
